Fiesta Kimono

$900.00

Fiesta Kimono is a fun, colorful painting featuring deep red, purple, and gold colors, created with watercolor, acrylic gouache, and gold ink on rice paper, mounted on panel. The image began as a transfer print, that I cut up and reassembled into the kimono form. The red, gold, and purple "confetti" – which were highly prized colors among the Japanese royalty — were hand cut and mounted on the background. In fact, I almost titled this work, Royal Confetti Kimono. The artwork is framed in a natural maple floater frame.
